Mr.Peabody & Sherman
So I know this post is several months late, but I figured there is still a few weeks left in 2014, so I'll post some work that I did for the 2014 release of Mr.Peabody & Sherman. These are some beat boards I was asked to do several years ago for an earlier version of the movie. The Art Team and Leadership on the project was great, and so the paintings that you see above is a sample of what I contributed to the show very early on.

At the Old Haunted House
Just in time for Halloween is a new book I just finished illustrating. It's titled "At the Old Haunted House" and was written by Helen Kettman. It's a spooky book filled with Ghosts and Ghouls and everything the slithers and goes bump in the night. The pictures above and below are from the book, with the text not included. You can find it in stores and online HERE

Band Shirt
A few years back, I was asked to create some art for a band t-shirt. They wanted something with a split screen idea, and so we ended up with this idea of 1/2 astronaut, 1/2 alien, in a Jim Flora-ish insipred design.

This piece was my contribution to the current show "Imaginary Friends" at Gallery Nucleus. I drew inspiration from the imaginary friends my daughter might have, thinking about them hanging around in her thoughts.

Guinness + Mary Blair + My Wife = Perfection
So I know this is a little off season, but this morning I stumbled upon this piece I made a few years back inspired by a Mary Blair panting and my wife Crystal. Crystal and I had just spent some time in Ireland, Scotland, & England with some friends drinking as much beer as possible, and my wife's love for Guinness got me inspired. I knew there was a really great illustration that Mary Blair did of a girl holding a large pitcher of fruit juice, so I thought I'd swap the girl for "My Girl" and the Fruit Juice for a nice Pint of Guinness. You can find the great Mary Blair original with a google search and you'll see I tried to keep mine as similar in style as hers, with the obvious few tweaks.

Rise of the Guardians
Several years ago, I was asked to create a few illustrative story murals for each of the main character's for Dreamworks new movie Rise of the Guardians. Production Designer Patrick Hanenberger had a great idea of establishing each character's background story in the form of a mural. In doing so we began to not only develop each characters shape and color language, but we had a fun time capturing bits of each characters background story which came from the original story material from William Joyce. Shown here are just a few of thees mural illustrations I did, you can check out the rest of the murals in the art of book, as well as a few other sketches I did for the film.
