The Deadly Fire Cyclops!

Final Paint Gouache / Acrylic / Paper Cut-Out

Below is the process in which I created this piece. Starting at the bottom of the post with the sketch, and finishing up here with the final.

Adding the rough detail to block out some more of the smaller shapes and textures.

Then block in the rough color and graphic shape.

The background color I put down first.

The rough color study I did to help me plan out the colors I'd use.

Wow, Nate! Love seeing the process so clearly. I'm bummed I didn't get more tips from you last summer. I move onto a cintiq in about a month. Very excited to steal photoshop brushes from people, haha!

Great to see the process, its very inspiring. i wish I could get to use a cyntiq, our studio has two, they are both in the animation department and one doesnt get used most of the time...im the artist in another department and know it would be in better use and more use if I got to use it...NOT FAIR! Can I come to Pixar and use theirs? :D
